What's new
v1.0.99
New
- Several material sets: keep separate resumes, job descriptions and knowledge bases in one account and switch between them before an interview. Role and years of experience follow the set; imports and AI organizing only go into the set you're using.
- Turn script pages by hand: the script window has page up and page down plus optional auto-scroll, with its own shortcuts (Ctrl+Shift+8 and 9 by default).
- Servers in the US and Germany: sessions in North America and Europe pick the nearer route automatically for answers, transcription, translation and the interview summary.
- Translation under foreign-language answers: English and Japanese answers are split into short chunks, each followed by its own translation, so you can keep reading the original straight through. Interviewer lines in the transcript are translated too, using a dedicated translation model that knows interview terms.
- New live speech recognition engine: the first line appears sooner. If the interviewer switches language mid-interview, recognition switches with them.
- One-click Windows install: no more "who is this for" step.
- Automatic updates can be turned off: Settings → About & updates. Update notices and manual updates still work.
- If screen recording permission fails during the pre-interview check, you can switch to speaker mode right there.
Fixes
- Screenshot answers stay in your records: answers from F4/F5 screenshots used to disappear from record review and HTML/Markdown exports. Now the question, screenshot and answer are all kept.
- Faster screenshot answers: an extra screen capture before each answer added 0.4–3 seconds. It's gone, and pausing no longer drops an answer in progress.
- On Mac, Restart to update works again, and screen recording permission no longer gets stuck at "granted but not working".
- Steadier privacy: if the transparent overlay can't keep itself out of screen capture, it switches to an opaque window instead of showing up. The overlay no longer pops up and grabs focus during coding tests.
- Installs that wouldn't open because of an old Visual C++ runtime now fix themselves.
- If system audio fails, the message names the device. The Windows pre-interview check has a live system-audio test.
- Shortcut hints match your platform: Option, Command and Control on Mac.
- F1 knows which question you mean: if the interviewer only says "right, okay", it answers the latest unanswered question. Pressing F1 while you read an answer no longer regenerates it.
- Better echo handling in speaker mode: the interviewer's voice leaking into your mic isn't treated as you speaking.
- Hiding and showing the overlay no longer turns it into a black box in screenshots.
- Knowledge base imports: notes with headings but no Q/A markers are sorted by AI into ready-to-say answers and reference material. Your text is stored word for word.
- Diagnostics that fail to upload on weak networks retry on their own.
- A stuck Alt key no longer turns the next A into Alt+A.
- Backup route: if the main server can't be reached from your location, the app switches to a backup route and remembers which one works.
Improvements
- One key hides CalmRound: Ctrl+` hides or restores the overlay, or the main window when no overlay is open.
- Close buttons stay in place when long panels scroll.
- If your camera can't do eye contact correction, the check says so plainly and gives the verdict first.
- Unsupported import formats (.doc, images, spreadsheets, slides) come with instructions for converting them.
- Overlay toolbar buttons that sometimes didn't respond to clicks now work, on the script window too.
- Translations stay lined up with their chunk and no longer leave big gaps.
- AI organizing shows the cost up front: it's counted by section (a resume is about one), and before you start you see how many sections, how many are free and how many minutes it uses. Unused sections are refunded if you cancel or it fails.
- The update dialog's Update now installs inside the app when the new version is already downloaded.
